After many TV demonstrations, Dr. Oz saves life with a real AED

Dr. Oz has often been on The Today Show to demonstrate how easy it is to use an AED on a manikin. As he says, "You just open this up... it tells you exactly what to do... the patches have a little map that shows you exactly where to put them..."

On March 2, while traveling with her father, Dr. Oz's daughter saw a man collapse. She yelled out "Dad!", and her father sprang into action. With the help of others, he administered CPR and used an AED to revive the patient.

Dr. Oz is a cardiologist, but he didn't need advanced medical training to use the AED effectively. He just open it up, followed the instructions spoken by the device, and put the pads where the stickers showed they go.
