AED adoption grows following passage of SB199
Six months ago, Senate Bill 199 went into effect, making it easier for businesses and organizations to have AEDs. Since then, AED123 has seen a marked increase in AED adoption across industries.
The modernized law provides immunity from civil liability and eliminates training requirements. Concerns with liability and training had historically blocked many businesses and organizations from deploying AEDs.
With these concerns removed, AED123 has installed AEDs at many properties, campuses, and even fitness centers that were historically unwilling to deploy AEDs. "Since passage of SB199, we've seen thousands of additional AEDs deployed across Texas, and we look forward to supporting the continued expansion of these life-saving devices," said Bobby Wehmeyer, CEO of AED123.
We praise Senator Jane Nelson and Representative Four Price for carrying this legislation through the Texas legislative process last year.
